We have a heritage virtually unparalleled in the Burlington community. For over a century residents and their families have chosen to make The Converse Home their home.
Our mission has remained steadfast throughout the years… to provide older persons with a gracious home along with high quality services.
An editorial in 1945 in the Burlington Free Press, when our name was The Home for Aged Women, best describes who we have been and who we continue to be:
“The Home for Aged Women, which is just rounding out its fifty-ninth year of service, is exceptional in the atmosphere of charm, vitality and friendliness which it has managed to maintain throughout the years. The distinctive quality of this institution is that it has escaped becoming institutionalized and has remained a very charming, congenial community. The Home for Aged Women is one good work which has been kept so vital that the enthusiasm and human touch of those who established it has persisted through the years.”
To this day, we continue as a private, non-profit organization governed by a volunteer Board of Directors.

“We are located in the heart of downtown Burlington, just minutes away from Lake Champlain, so it makes it easy for us, our families and friends who are visiting to enjoy the activities that are nearby.”
